Rocky Mountain Rabbis & Cantors
Rocky Mountain Rabbis & Cantors
The RMRC is a multi-denominational agency serving Colorado rabbis and cantors from the various branches of Judaism. It is supported by an Executive Director and executive committee- the VAAD. The RMRC serves the spiritual, intellectual, and professional needs of its members. The RMRC monthly meetings provide an opportunity for our members to share Jewish knowledge and insight, to have study opportunities as well as to have a forum to discuss public response to pressing current events and community and synagogue issues. The RMRC also provides a forum where representatives from local and national agencies can provide a briefing to clergy on pertinent issues.
One of their most important initiatives is their 28 class Intro to Judaism program. In 2011, the RMRC created the Board of Peers (BOP), which is composed of agency directors, rabbis, and cantors, from the majority of Jewish agencies and synagogues in town. The BOP meets 4-5 times a year to discuss issues that affect our community, our country and Israel. It is a think tank for ideas, projects and programs.
The RMRC is a sponsor of the DIA chapel.
